Introducing our latest and greatest...VectorWorks
10!
We are very excited about this release. We spent the last eighteen
months really listening to our users, and I think you will
agree that this is one of our best releases ever. We focused
on finely tuning our offered features and made them even better.
VectorWorks 10 focuses on offering more efficiency, additional
productivity, enhanced 3D, added artistic capabilities, and
much-improved compatibilities with other CAD/CAM programs.
VectorWorks 10 is it!
But don't just take my word for it; take a look at VectorWorks
10 yourself, and I know you will agree with me. Incidentally,
we will be showing off the VectorWorks 10 series of productsRenderWorks,
ARCHITECT and LANDMARKat some upcoming tradeshows, so
come on by and check them out for yourselves. Take a look at
the events calendar below to see when we will be in your area,
and don't forget to check if we have free passes for you. You
will see; this version is everything it promises to be and
more!

Testimonials |

VectorWorks 10 has taken Nemetschek's
many years of development and improvements and honed
them into one well-oiled machine. Instead of adding huge
new features and leaving the old features alone, they've
added some very useful new technology and greatly improved
on what they've already done.
The overall performance is faster. The behavior of the
program is much more integrated and polished, requiring
fewer steps to do the same task. The new Resource Browser
makes finding, organizing and editing resources much
easier. Walls have become smarter by keeping intersections
joined when moving and by healing themselves when a wall
is removed. The DWG / DXF import and export have gotten
much better and now even import associative hatches and
solid fills! Also, the new Image and Gradient attributes
open up many more possibilities for presentations.
What it comes down to is this: VectorWorks 10 makes the
day-to-day tasks we do in the program much easier and
faster than before.

VectorWorks 10's IGES and STL export
features make VectorWorks a serious player on the mechanical
scene. These features are a must for such jobs. 10's
new batch DXF/DWG import is wonderful when importing,
for example, furniture catalogs. Opening 1,500 DWG drawings,
one for each piece, and converting them into symbols
used to be a nightmare. With VectorWorks it's a simple
task. The merger between the Object Browser and Resource
palette saves valuable screen real estate. And, the new
gradient color features reduce the need for exporting
to illustration programs just to get such abilities.

The real power and glory of VectorWorks
10 though, is in the wonderful myriad of tools, commands,
scripting environment, libraries and support that open
up the world of CAD to limitless possibilities. VectorWorks
10 gives you hundreds of tools and a barrier-free design
environment to develop your dreams, your way. With VectorWorks
10 you will never hear "You can't get there from here."
That's because, if you can picture it, then with VectorWorks
10 you can bring it to life.

Very stable. Great AutoCAD (dwg and
dxf) transfer. Vastly superior rendering and lighting.
Easier library access and texture creation. 3D meshes
and NURBS are more stable. Improved performance, speed
and reliability. Overall the features and ease of use
of VectorWorks 10 provide real competition for programmes
costing five to six times as much and we can heartily
recommend VectorWorks 10 as the best version yet!

One of the most gratifying features
of this release is the stable feel and solid features.
I recently completed a large project including large
portions of the 3D Power Pack, DTM, and RenderWorks features
to create an outdoor exhibition. VectorWorks 10 provides
a satisfying array of well-developed features.

Customizable Keyboard Arrow Key Functions
|
|
In version 10 under the Edit tab in File>Preferences>VectorWorks
Preferences, there is a new option for editing the behavior
of the arrow keys. You can assign different keyboard combinations
to Nudge Objects, Move Objects on Grid, Pan Drawing, and switch
between layers. Plus, a new option allows 10 users to cycle
through classes.

To cycle through the active layer, use the Up and Down arrows
(or arrow combinations). And to scroll through classes, use
the Left and Right Arrows (or arrow combinations).
Also in 10, keyboard shortcuts can be assigned to any tool
or command. In previous versions, keyboard shortcuts could
only be assigned to a tool slot, so you couldn't assign shortcuts
to nested tools on fly outs.

Line Rendering Smoothing Angle
|
|
In version 10 under File>Preferences>Document
Preference>Line Render Tab, a new document preference has
been added to eliminate or reduce the number of facet lines
drawn during rendering. This will make it easier to create
clean elevation and prespective drawings. Plus, Hidden Line,
Dashed Hidden Line, and Final Shaded Polygon renderings now
display curves more accurately.

Text Formatting and Edit Modifications
|
|
Version 10 supports repeating tabs in text blocks.
A new ruler interface allows you to easily drag tabs to the
location you want. Support for tabs also means that text blocks
copied from word processing and spreadsheet applications will
retain their formatting. Plus, for faster text editing, simply
double-clicking on a text block puts you into Edit Text mode.
